Kia is planning an affordable city-sized electric car to compete with models from BYD, Dacia, and Fiat.
The new city EV, possibly named EV1, would replace the petrol-powered Picanto and is expected to be released by 2028-2029.
Kia aims to have a full EV lineup in Europe, with plans for a variety of electric models including EV2, EV4, EV5, EV6, and EV9.
Kia also intends to maintain flexibility by offering alternative powertrains like hybrids and EREVs in markets that lack electric-charging infrastructure.
