KiranaPro, a quick commerce platform integrated with the ONDC, faced a severe cyberattack that wiped out its servers and critical data, disrupting its operations.
The attack, occurring between May 24 and 25, targeted KiranaPro's AWS and GitHub accounts, resulting in the deletion of essential information like app code, user data, and virtual machines.
Despite using multi-factor authentication, the hackers accessed the startup's root-level credentials, possibly initiated through a former employee's account.
The startup, which aims to revolutionize India's kirana stores through technological integration, is now grappling with the aftermath of the breach and pursuing legal action against ex-employees involved while collaborating with GitHub's support team for further investigation.
