Developer Bohemia Interactive has announced DayZ Badlands, the third major expansion for the survival game DayZ, introducing the largest official map in the game’s history - the war-scarred desert region of Nasdara Province, set to be released in 2026.
The new expansion will challenge players with new environmental challenges such as droughts and increased need for hydration management in the harsh desert climate. The map covers 267 km² of desert terrain with abandoned cities, ruins, and oil fields.
Key features of DayZ Badlands include region-specific content like new infected variants adapted to the desert heat, new items and firearms, as well as player-driven storytelling elements where factions can form and secrets can be uncovered in the desert landscape.
Bohemia Interactive aims to deliver a punishing but rewarding experience with DayZ Badlands, inviting players to wishlist the expansion on Steam for its release in 2026.
