Deepinder Goyal-led Zomato has reportedly fired 600 customer support associates just a year after hiring them.
The company is shifting towards automation, using AI to handle customer service operations, in order to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
The employees were allegedly dismissed without prior notice and given one month’s salary as severance, citing performance-related issues as reasons for termination.
Former employees have expressed frustration over the abrupt terminations, claiming there was no warning or opportunity to improve.
