Astrophel Aerospace, a deeptech space startup based in Pune, has raised Rs 6.84 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by angel investors and venture firms.
The funding will aid the startup in developing reusable semi-cryogenic launch vehicles and missile-grade guidance systems, including their flagship engine Potentia C1U.
Astrophel, founded in 2022 by Suyash Bafna, has achieved success in test-firing a semi-cryogenic engine with minimal budget and no prior institutional funding.
The startup plans to utilize the capital to expand its R&D team, scale manufacturing capabilities, and collaborate with ISRO on co-development and testing campaigns.
