Deere & Co shareholders voted down a proposal requiring reporting on racial and gender hiring statistics.
The proposal, brought forth by the National Legal and Policy Center, aimed to address concerns about discriminatory practices against White people and men.
Deere's board of directors stated that preparing a report would not benefit shareholders and majority of voters followed the board's guidance.
The move to vote down the proposal came after Deere faced backlash and dropped support for diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
