Delhi-based internet services firm Wiom has raised $40 million in funding from Bertelsmann India Investments, Accel, Prosus, and Promaft Partners, with participation from existing investor RTP Global.
The funding will help Wiom improve digital connectivity for India's underserved middle-income households by offering an affordable, inclusive internet access platform.
Wiom, previously known as i2e1, operates as a licensed Public Data Office Aggregator under the government's PM-WANI framework, aiming to extend broadband access to communities with limited connectivity models.
The company plans to use the capital to expand product development, enhance team capabilities, and scale operations to establish a more inclusive digital future.
