The US Department of Justice (DoJ) has released a 23-page document calling for the breakup of Google, including a sale of the Chrome web browser and restrictions on Android.
The DoJ argues that selling Chrome will allow rival search engines to access a critical search access point and enable competition.
The regulator also suggests that Google must stop favoring its own search engine in Android or be required to divest its mobile device operating system.
Google responded, stating that the DoJ's proposal would harm consumers, affect US tech leadership, and go beyond the court's decision.
