Deutsche Bank is planning to launch its cryptocurrency custody service in 2026, with the help of crypto exchange Bitpanda's technology division.
The banking giant will also collaborate with Swiss tech company Taurus on the custody service, following its corporate bank's initial announcement in 2022.
The move comes as major banks are increasing their focus on digital assets, driven by new European regulations and a more favorable crypto environment in the U.S.
Deutsche Bank may expand its digital asset efforts by considering issuing its own stablecoin or participating in a larger project, alongside other banking institutions exploring the stablecoin space.
