Dismissal or removal of government employees from public sector undertakings (PSUs) for misconduct after absorption will lead to forfeiture of retirement benefits for service rendered under the government.
Changes made in the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 2021 will be effective from May 23, 2025, impacting central government officers and employees, as well as the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.
The new provision will subject employees to review by the ministry administratively concerned with the undertaking in case of dismissal, removal, or retrenchment from a PSU after absorption.
The rule emphasizes future good conduct for pension eligibility, with the National Pension System (NPS) governing employees joining service on or after January 1, 2004.
