The US Department of Commerce has finalized semiconductor awards totaling nearly $7 billion for Samsung, Texas Instruments, and Amkor Technology.
Samsung has been awarded up to $4.745 billion, Texas Instruments up to $1.61 billion, and Amkor up to $407 million under the CHIPS Incentives Program.
Samsung plans to invest $37 billion to expand chip development and production in the US, while Texas Instruments will invest over $18 billion in building three new facilities.
Amkor is planning a $2 billion investment to create the country's largest advanced packaging and test facility in Arizona.
