Researchers in Australia's Waulinbakh Wildlife Sanctuary discovered the presence of a young Koala joey and its mother with the help of thermal UAVs.The sanctuary, home to more than 300 species, used acoustic surveying and drones to confirm the presence of the vulnerable Koala population.The drone survey revealed that the Koalas at the sanctuary are healthy and free from diseases such as conjunctivitis and chlamydia.The discovery highlights the importance of preserving the sanctuary as a critical refuge for the endangered Koala species in the region.
