E-hailing operators InDrive and Maxim have been ordered by APAD to cease operations in Malaysia starting June 24.
Transport minister Anthony Loke stated that the final decision regarding the cessation of operations rests with him and the companies have the option to appeal.
The Malaysian P-Hailing Riders Association called for strict enforcement against InDrive and Maxim for allegedly operating without complying with regulations, including drivers not having valid PSV licenses and lacking e-hailing insurance.
APAD pointed out that InDrive and Maxim violated licensing conditions under the Land Public Transport Act and operators found in violation may have their licenses revoked under the law.
