Students at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest have presented a project to explore the potential of algae as a future food source, among other projects.
The Future Food Project involved the creation of a compact algae biofarm suitable for human-scale functionality, which could work within urban environments or future scenarios.
Also featured were items such as a collection of bowls representing the relationship between metal and glass and a jewellery line representing affectionate association.
Supporting talent is an important area in the university’s operations. The Designer-Maker MA at MOME blends design and craftsmanship to prepare students for the fast-changing creative industries.
Through studio-based projects, workshops and international collaborations students can explore ceramics and glasswork among other crafts.
Other projects by students included a range of tableware that explores individuals with eating disorders, and jewellery pieces which encourage intimate observation through imperfection and the depth of personal observation.
MOME has created a future-focused approach to address global challenges through sustainability and innovation.
Its MA programmes equip students to design meaningful, future-ready solutions that build resilience and inclusion.
