Elon Musk’s gaming ability has been questioned after footage of him playing Path of Exile 2, a hardcore action RPG, was shared
Tek billionaire Elon Musk has been accused of account boosting and lying about his gaming prowess by various content creators
Zack Hoyt, known as Asmongold, who has a large following on YouTube and Twitch, joined in by calling Musk a fraud after watching him play
Musk responded by unfollowing Hoyt and leaking private DMs between the two on X (formerly known as Twitter)
The accusations centre on the fact that Musk boasted about having one of the highest-ranked hardcore mode characters in the game
Achieving such a high level would ordinarily be a time-consuming and difficult process
Some concluded that Musk must have paid other people to play for him
Musk denied the accusations, claiming his achievements were legitimate across hundreds of live streams he has done
Hoyt is a vocal critic of the alleged deception, and even threatened to move his streams to Musk's X platform if he could prove his achievement was real
This problem unfolded very publicly because of the personal nature of the exchanges between Musk and Hoyt, which Musk is said to have leaked and derailed the conversation in the eyes of some.
