Elon Musk's xAI supercomputer Colossus, powered by 200,000 Nvidia GPUs, has been switched on in Memphis, Tennessee.
The deployment of the Colossus cluster was achieved in a record time of 122 days, scaling rapidly from zero to 200,000 GPUs.
Tesla Megapack batteries have been installed to stabilize power supply and handle peak loads at the site, ensuring smooth operations until the second substation comes online.
Phase 2 of the project is planned for late 2025 to increase the power draw to 300 MW, with long-term goals aiming for one million GPUs and 1.55 GW of power.
