Epic Games is reducing fees for app developers by introducing a 0% revenue share on the first $1,000,000 in revenue per app per year, starting in June 2025.
Developers will then pay the regular 88%/12% revenue share when they earn more than $1,000,000, allowing indie developers to engage with the Epic Games Store with little risk.
In comparison, Steam takes a 30% cut, with discounts for games making over $10 million in revenue.
Epic Games is also launching a feature in June 2025 that allows developers to host their own webshops on the Epic Games Store for out-of-app purchases, providing an alternative to in-app purchases that incur high fees on platforms like Apple and Google.
