Epic has officially submitted Fortnite to the US Apple App Store, marking its return after nearly five years.
After a judge's ruling that Apple must stop collecting fees for purchases made outside of the App Store, Epic announced changes to its sales platform, including not charging a commission for the first $1,000,000 in revenue per year.
Epic introduced standalone webshops powered by Epic Games Store for out-of-app purchases as an alternative to in-app purchases, aiming to provide a more cost-effective option for developers and publishers.
Epic CEO Tim Sweeney stated that Fortnite would return to the App Store worldwide if Apple extends the court's ruling globally, while Apple filed a motion to pause changes to the App Store operations and fee collections.
