Ernesto Neto has brought woven architecture to the Nef Nord of the Grand Palais in Paris, creating an immersive environment filled with organic materials like bark and raw fiber.
Neto's installation, titled 'Nosso Barco Tambor Terra', features a kind of woven architecture made of looping crochet, cords, and braided skins that connect body to earth and rhythm to breath.
The project incorporates hidden instruments that are played during performances, creating a ceremonial atmosphere where drums from different continents respond to each other and to visitors' presence.
Presented as part of the France–Brazil Season 2025, the exhibition expands the idea of architecture beyond construction, emphasizing slowness, attention, and a collective membrane of ancestral craft and manual labor.
