Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has proposed a roadmap for enhancing security and finality in Layer 2 (L2) networks.
The proposal suggests using a hybrid proof verification system with a combination of optimistic proofs, zero-knowledge proofs, and Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) hardware-based verifications.
The roadmap focuses on increasing blockchain data availability through planned upgrades, accommodating higher transaction loads, and utilizing a variety of security features.
To lower costs and enhance efficiency, Buterin also proposed the creation of a standardized ZK proof aggregation layer to verify transactions collectively across different L2 solutions and privacy protocols.
