The Ethereum Foundation has introduced the Mekong testnet as a playground for developers to try out new features that focus on improving user experience.
Mekong is designed to be temporary but packed with key upgrades coming with the Pectra fork, including Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) for changes to the network.
The testnet aims to help developers and stakers (people who help secure the network) get comfortable with new features before they officially launch.
Mekong allows developers to test updates before rolling out to larger testnets and eventually to the main Ethereum network, offering wallet developers a chance to experiment with user-friendly updates.
