Ethereum’s core developers have decided to proceed with the Pectra upgrade on schedule.
A testnet practice run for the upgrade, called Holesky, failed to finalize.
The developers identified the issue and deemed it manageable, choosing to continue with the Sepolia testnet on March 5.
The Pectra upgrade will bring user-friendly features to Ethereum, including smart contract functionality for mainstream crypto wallets and improved user experience on consumer-facing crypto apps.
