EKA Mobility, an electric vehicle manufacturer, secured Rs 200 crore in funding from ENAM Holdings to expand manufacturing infrastructure.
The funding obtained through convertible preference shares aims to help EKA scale its operations towards achieving unicorn status.
EKA plans to set up three manufacturing facilities to bolster production capacity, including one in Madhya Pradesh expected to reach 5,000 vehicles per month when fully operational.
Despite facing challenges in securing rare earth magnets for EV motors, EKA aims to build a diverse commercial EV portfolio and deliver over 2,000 buses this financial year.
