Google has announced the introduction of a new Canary release channel for the Android platform to replace the existing developer preview program.
The Canary channel will offer a continuous flow of the latest platform builds via OTA updates, providing developers with the opportunity to test new features and give feedback throughout the year.
Developers can use the Canary channel to explore early pre-release Android APIs and behavior changes, but should expect bugs and breaking changes as these builds are not meant for primary devices.
Feedback on the Canary releases is encouraged through the Google Issue Tracker to facilitate a more transparent and collaborative development process for future Android updates.
