A report by Solera cap hpi shows electric vehicle (EV) drivers are now covering more miles annually than those using petrol cars.
In January 2025, the average EV travelled 8,740 miles per year, surpassing the petrol average by 444 miles, marking a significant shift in driving habits.
Advancements in EV technology, reduced range anxiety, and increased charging infrastructure accessibility are attributed to this trend, along with an expanded selection of EV models.
Petrol car mileage has declined due to factors such as remote working, improved public transport, environmental awareness, and the rise of online services, as well as the impact of the pandemic.
