Former Carolina Panthers player, Russell Okung, who received half of his $13 million salary in Bitcoin in 2020, could now be sitting on over $20.9 million if he held onto it.
In May 2021, Okung reaffirmed his commitment to Bitcoin, stating that he would not sell it.
Bitcoin's value has increased by more than 220% since then, placing Okung's Bitcoin bet at $21 million.
Okung defended Bitcoin when Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the company would no longer accept Bitcoin payments, launching the 'Stick to Space, Elon' campaign.
