Google is launching a new version of Woolaroo, an AI experiment from Google Arts & Culture that helps users learn words in 30 endangered languages by snapping a photo.
The new edition includes 10 languages from Africa, as well as languages from Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, and Scotland, with stories created by partners to provide more information about the languages and communities.
For example, users can learn words such as 'Anyan afọng idem' in Ibibio for 'dress', 'Gire' in Scottish Gaelic for 'laugh', and 'Íchakp' in Ekpeye for 'road'.
People can explore more endangered languages, their cultures, and support language preservation through Woolaroo on Google Arts & Culture.
