Meta is partnering with V.tal to extend the Malbec subsea cable to Porto Alegre, Brazil by 2027, making it the first subsea cable to land in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The extension of Malbec will improve digital infrastructure in Porto Alegre, positioning it as a digital hub and enhancing online experiences across Southern Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
The new extension will link Porto Alegre to Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires, benefitting millions of people and attracting digital infrastructure companies to the region.
