The FAA has temporarily banned drones from flying over most of New Jersey until January 17.
The ban comes after reports of numerous drone sightings in the region, causing concern among locals and lawmakers.
Federal officials have stated that many of the reported drone sightings were actually crewed aircraft operating legally.
The ban affects more than 22 communities in New Jersey, prohibiting drones from flying within one nautical mile and up to 400 feet within the restricted areas.
