Meta, Facebook's parent company, is now training its AI on the billions of private images that users haven't uploaded to Facebook and Instagram.
Users attempting to post on the Story feature are being prompted to opt into 'cloud processing' to allow Facebook to select photos from their camera roll for AI-driven purposes like collages and more.
Those who opt in are granting Meta the rights to analyze the media, facial features, dates, and other details of these unpublished photos.
Meta has previously scraped data from content uploaded on Facebook and Instagram since 2007 to train its AI models.
