Telenor Pakistan and Deodar Pakistan (a Jazz subsidiary) have agreed to pay Rs26 billion in outstanding taxes to the FBR.
The companies decided to comply after failing to secure relief from the IHC regarding withholding taxes on imported telecom equipment.
The FBR initiated recovery efforts, including freezing bank accounts, but both telecom operators chose to settle the dispute by paying the respective tax liabilities.
Deodar Pakistan, responsible for managing Jazz's network infrastructure, is in the process of being sold to Engro Corporation in a $563 million deal, pending resolution of legal matters.
