<ul data-eligibleForWebStory="true"><li>FFXIV is introducing more headgear support for Hrothgar and Viera avatars with new hat and helmet options.</li><li>The update, starting with patch 7.3 in early August 2025, will provide additional hat choices and eventual helmet support for both races.</li><li>Players will also have the option to display or hide Viera ears on hats, with the choice being saved.</li><li>The update will allow hairstyle bangs to be visible when characters wear hoods in FFXIV.</li><li>Screenshots were shared during the livestream showcasing new hat options and the visibility of Viera ears under caps.</li><li>Two comparison screenshots were provided to demonstrate the improved visibility of character hairstyles under hoods.</li><li>The announcement was made during the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer LIVE Part LXXXVII stream.</li><li>Final Fantasy XIV is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, with patch 7.3 set to release in early August 2025.</li></ul>
