Fiat has introduced the petrol-powered successor to the second-generation Fiat 500, known as the Fiat 500 Hybrid, which is based on the third-generation 500e designed for electric drivetrains.
The Fiat 500 Hybrid features a mild-hybrid drivetrain with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, driving the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
The car's power, torque, performance, and fuel economy figures are yet to be disclosed, but the drivetrain was used in the previous generation, producing 52kW and 92Nm.
The Fiat 500 Hybrid will retail for around €17,000 in Italy and production will occur alongside the electric 500e at Fiat's factory in Mirafiori, Turin.
