Final Cut Pro is now available for iPad bringing an all-new touch interface and intuitive tools - unlocking new workflows for video creators.
Users can interact with content in completely new ways by navigating with the Magnetic Timeline, moving clips, and making fast frame-accurate edits with just the tap of a finger.
Features of Final Cut Pro include Live Drawing, Pro Camera Mode, Scene Removal Mask, Auto Crop adjusts, Voice Isolation, Multicam Video Editing, and Pro Graphics, Effects, and Audio.
Final Cut Pro allows import and export of supported media and projects created in iMovie for iOS. The app requires a subscription, which costs $4.99/month or $49/year.
In July 2023, Final Cut Pro for iPad had its first major update with version 1.1, and in September 2023, it received version 1.2 with new features for Fujifilm, DJI, and ARRI cameras.
In October 2023, Apple announced new features coming with version 1.3, including new voiceover capabilities, workflow benefits, new keyboard shortcuts, and new color-grading presets and titles.
Apple announced a version 2 of Final Cut Pro coming later this spring introducing Live Multicam, Final Cut Camera, and support for external projects.
In November 2024, Apple released version 2.1 of Final Cut Pro for iPad with new features such as live drawing enhancements, auto color and light enhancement, codec optimization for HDR, accessories enhancements, and Final Cut Camera improvements.
Final Cut Pro for iPad is compatible with 6 devices running iPadOS 16.4 or later, including the M4 iPad Pro, M2 iPad Pro, M1 iPad Pro, M2 iPad Air, M1 iPad Air, and the iPad mini (A17 Pro chip).
The app launched on May 23, and a one-month free trial of Final Cut Pro for iPad is available on the App Store.
