<ul><li>First Alert has launched the First Alert Smart Smoke & Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarm that will work with Google Home, offering similar features as the discontinued Nest Protect.</li><li>The new alarms will be compatible with the First Alert and Google Home apps, as well as existing Nest Protect alarms, using Nest's Weave communication protocol.</li><li>The First Alert Smart Smoke & CO Alarms will cost $129.99 and will be available in hardwired or battery-powered options in the US and Canada later this year.</li><li>The new alarms feature automatic safety checkups, early warning notifications, alarm silencing from the apps, and the ability to trigger live feeds from Nest security cameras.</li></ul>
