WhatsApp won a major victory against NSO Group, with a jury ordering the spyware maker to pay over $167 million in damages.
During the legal battle, it was revealed that NSO Group hacked more than 1,400 WhatsApp users using a vulnerability in the app's audio-calling feature.
The trial exposed details of the zero-click attack method used by NSO Group, targeting individuals through a fake WhatsApp call and spyware downloads.
Other revelations include NSO Group targeting a U.S. phone number for a test with the FBI and continuing to target WhatsApp users post the lawsuit filing.
