FlyFishRC has released the FIFTY5 kit, a True-X style drone frame component built to work with 5.5in propellers or 5in blades.
In the kit, customers receive all relevant components, labelled screw bags, an exploded view of the frame in place of an assembly manual and some 3D printed TPU parts including a GoPro mount and VTX antenna holder.
The seven carbon fiber parts, plus two CNC aluminum camera mounts, can accommodate two stacks: one in the center and one in the tail.
For those using single-antenna configurations, a TPU antenna mount is included, or customers can print their own mount for dual antennas as STL files are provided.
Although designed for use with 5.5in propellers, the FIFTY5 frame is also suitable for 5in blades.
As with FlyFish-RC's earlier Volador VD5 and the larger Volador II VD6 products, the FIFTY5 was designed with expert piloting in mind.
The package is available at $52.80 from FlyFish-RC's site, with various bundle options that include additional sword or flash motors and propellers.
Alongside the frame kit and motors, customers will need a flight controller, ESC, RX module, and FPV system and battery to complete the build.
A reviewer said that, after using the company's PDF guide and a video tutorial, they assembled the Fifty5 kit in just 30 minutes.
