Ford is recalling over a million vehicles due to backup camera issues that could cause blackouts or freezes during operation.
Models affected by the recall include various Ford and Lincoln vehicles spanning from 2021 to 2025.
The problem is attributed to an improper sequencing in the wireless communication subsystem of the SYNC software, leading to rearview image freeze or delay.
Ford will address the issue through an over-the-air update to software version 2.0 and has not received reports of injuries or crashes due to the problem.
