Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in India remained net sellers, offloading equities worth over Rs 1,600 crore, with domestic institutional investors continuing as buyers for the sixth consecutive day, acquiring stocks worth Rs 1,821 crore.
FPIs have sold shares amounting to Rs 656 crore in July and Rs 14,590 crore in the previous month, totaling Rs 78,557 crore in 2025 so far. In June, financial services stocks attracted the largest share of FPI inflows, accounting for 61% of the total FPI flows during the month.
On Monday, India's benchmark equity indices experienced a fourth consecutive session of losses due to a decline in Asian shares and US index futures. Sectors like information technology, defence, and financials faced declines, with the NSE Nifty 50 closing 0.27% lower and the BSE Sensex ending 0.3% down.
