France’s competition regulator has fined Apple 150 million euros (about $162 million) for alleged violations of competition law.
The Autorité de la concurrence accuses Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) of making the use of third-party applications on iOS devices excessively complex.
While the objective of ATT is not problematic, its implementation is considered unnecessary and disproportionate to Apple's goal of protecting personal data.
Apple has not been required to make any specific changes to ATT, but is disappointed with the French Competition Authority's decision.
