Frank Lloyd Wright's only realized skyscraper, the Price Tower in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, has been sold to McFarlin Building LLC for $1.4 million, just before an auction due to bankruptcy.
Designed in 1952 and completed in 1956, the 19-story Price Tower is an iconic example of Wright's organic architecture, featuring cantilevered floors and a distinctive copper-panel facade.
After facing neglect and financial issues under previous owners, McFarlin Building LLC plans careful revitalization of the National Historic Landmark with the support of The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy.
The new owners, John Snyder and Macy Snyder-Amatucci, aim to restore the Price Tower, respecting its architectural significance and ensuring its future as a symbol of American independence.
