UK-based startup Freeaim launched a Kickstarter campaign for motorized shoes designed to enhance VR experiences by simulating natural walking movements.
The Freeaim VR Shoes incorporate robotic wheels and motion sensors to allow users to walk in place while moving freely in virtual reality.
The company offers two versions: VR Shoes Advanced with rotating wheel modules to prevent drifting, and VR Shoes Light, a more affordable option that requires an external support frame for stability.
The Kickstarter campaign has exceeded its funding goal, with plans to deliver the VR Shoes in February 2026 at a price below traditional VR treadmill systems.
