The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has asked state authorities to increase surveillance in warehouses of ecommerce operators.
FSSAI has urged the states and Union Territories to ramp up surveillance at popular tourist destinations to ensure heightened safety standards for the peak tourist season.
FSSAI CEO has requested Food Commissioners to step up surveillance on warehouses and issue standard operating procedures (SoPs) for delivery personnel of ecommerce platforms.
The committee also emphasized the training of food business operators (FBOs) and the need for an integrated food safety approach.
