FSSAI has warned food business operators (FBOs) of penalties for furnishing false information in their annual returns, which are filed through the online FoSCoS portal.
The annual returns capture key information including mandatory production details and non-mandatory compliance-related data. Licensing authorities are urged to scrutinize the submissions for accuracy.
FBOs can now revise and update information submitted in annual returns to rectify mistakes. Furnishing false information may lead to penalties under the FSS Act of 2006.
All FBOs are reminded of the importance of submitting accurate and complete information in their annual returns, and advised to make corrections promptly to avoid penalties.
