GCCs in India Are Facing a Branding Problem

  • Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are increasingly setting up in India where currently there are already over 1,500 GCCs.
  • Innova Solutions president, APAC SBU and India country head Pradeep Yadlapati said GCCs are not seen as big brands, making it harder for them to attract fresh university graduates who focus on IT companies.
  • About 30% to 40% of GCCs are unable to prove their value back to their parent organizations, with costs, operational expenses and economic models being the toughest hurdles
  • Innova Solutions has played a major role in establishing GCCs in India across multiple sectors, by providing India entry strategies, supporting them in operationalizing their ventures, establishing centres of excellence, and innovation facilitation
  • Innova Solutions presence across multiple cities in India, including Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Noida, serves as a significant advantage for the company
  • Innova Solutions' presence in India is helping to resolve the country's employment problem as campus placements have declined over the years.
  • India has more than a billion people and GCCs are expected to spread in the country from 1,700 to 2,400 by 2030 with a $110bn GCC market expected by the end of the decade.
  • As more companies look to set up GCCs in India, this presents a consultancy opportunity as independent GCC advisors and consulting firms are instrumental in advising these companies.
  • Innova Solutions announced a comprehensive set of services for GCCs, called Orion, which covers advisory and consulting, among other things.
  • The GCC market may also shift to become supplier-centric as with SAP and Oracle, with an increased need for advisory and consulting services.
