Geely Auto Australia has introduced its first over-the-air (OTA) update for the Geely EX5 mid-size electric SUV, enhancing various features such as pedestrian alert sound, CarbitLink performance, and range calculation.
The update is a response to customer feedback, with Geely actively listening to its customers for continuous improvement.
Owners can access the update through the 'My Car' menu on the vehicle's infotainment screen and are advised to connect to Wi-Fi for a stable connection during download.
The next OTA update will include Apple CarPlay functionality in mid-2025 and Android Auto later in the year.
Geely has registered 1023 new EX5 vehicles in Australia by May 2025, marking the success of the model's launch in the Australian market.
The brand plans to introduce a plug-in hybrid version of the EX5 to compete with the Tesla Model Y, powered by a combination of a petrol engine and electric motor with varying battery capacities.
