<ul><li>Gene Saunders is the founder and CEO of Project Lifesaver International, a nonprofit organization focused on locating and rescuing missing individuals.</li><li>Saunders had a distinguished career in public service, including 33 years at the Chesapeake Police Department, where he held command positions and led the SWAT team.</li><li>He founded Project Lifesaver International in 1999 after adapting wildlife tracking technology to aid in search and rescue of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.</li><li>Under Saunders' leadership, Project Lifesaver International has partnered with over 1,800 public safety agencies, leading to more than 4,000 successful rescues and the development of advanced tracking devices.</li></ul>
