Generative AI testing and monitoring firm Gentrace has secured $8m in a round led by Matrix Partners with participation from Headline and K9 Ventures.
The funding coincides with the launch of Gentrace’s flagship tool, Experiments, to increase the accessibility, collaborative and efficient testing of large language models.
Gentrace aims to remove the barriers between engineering teams and non-engineering stakeholders such as product teams and QA specialists.
With generative AI's growth projected to reach $38.7bn by 2030, Gentrace's three-pillar approach focuses on testing environments, performance analytics and collaboration through Experiments.
Gentrace's no-code interface allows non-technical users to evaluate artificial intelligence systems, such as GPT, for edge cases and safety.
Early adopters of Gentrace's platform, including Webflow and Quizlet, have increased the speed of evaluating tests and predictive impact of model changes.
Gentrace plans to use the funding to expand its engineering, product and go-to-market teams, with advanced features in the development pipeline such as threshold-based experimentation.
The platform recently achieved the ISO 27001 certification, demonstrating its approach to securing customer data.
Matrix Partners' Kojo Osei believes that Gentrace is setting a new standard for AI reliability and usability while Headline's Jett Fein adds that the platform is indispensable for deploying AI at scale.
Partner support underscores the value of the platform as the rise of generative AI continues to fuel the need for effective and safe AI implementation tools.
