Gigabyte has revealed a new feature called 'X3D turbo mode' for its AM5 motherboards that boosts the performance of 3D V-Cache chips and other Ryzen CPUs.
The feature, available through a BIOS update, offers frame rate boosts of up to 5% for games like Tomb Raider, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Far Cry 6.
Gigabyte clarifies that the turbo mode works with all X3D chips, including past generations, and even provides a similar boost to vanilla Ryzen processors.
The turbo mode appears to turn off multi-threading and optimizes power usage and core distribution, benefiting gaming performance.
