The Goa government has announced a financial assistance program of Rs 4,000 per month for widows with children under the age of 21 by merging two separate schemes.
Previously, widows had to apply for two different schemes offering Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,500 per month, which have now been combined into a single scheme providing Rs 4,000 monthly.
The new scheme aims to streamline the process for eligible widows, who will now receive the assistance without the need for multiple applications.
The Goa government's initiative consolidates women-centric welfare schemes and simplifies the support system for widows in the state.
